Overview We are recruiting on behalf of a leading metal manufacturer in Jamestown, NC seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager . This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with a strong background in manufacturing quality and a passion for continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) (ISO 9001, IATF, VDA standards) Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections (weld inspection, NDT, CMM, dimensional checks) Supervise, train, and develop a team of quality inspectors and technicians Drive continuous improvement using tools such as FMEA, SPC, and Control Plans Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions Manage quality documentation, certifications, and key metrics (scrap, downtime, cost of quality) Act as primary contact for customer quality requirements, audits, and complaints Oversee supplier quality , including audits and performance reviews Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements Essential Duties Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor Interpret technical drawings and customer specifications Perform internal and supplier audits Requirements Proven experience in quality management within manufacturing (metal fabrication, stamping, welding, or machining) Strong knowledge of APQP tools : PFMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA, Control Plans Experience with inspection equipment (CMM, gauges, calipers, optical comparators) Familiarity with NDT methods Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities
