Job Description

Advertisement Flyer Performs difficult professional and responsible administrative work assessing in-home care needs of older adults and ensuring the quality of their care through essential functions such as: assesses client needs; develops, implements, and evaluates service plans; supervises home care staff to ensure quality of care is maintained; acts as resource person for clients, aides, and community; confers and coordinates services with other social and health agencies in the community; maintains continuing education through attendance at workshops and seminars; contacts client's physician as needed; refers clients to other community service agencies such as meals on wheels, medicaid, etc.; interviews and verifies certifications of applicants; completes orientation; evaluates work performance of employees; tests aides for competency; performs aide in-services, scheduling; helps other agencies as needed concerning adult protective service; MIS/Cost sharing; OSHA/Safety; performs related tasks as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Aging Services Director.
  • Thorough knowledge of physical, psychological, financial and environmental needs of older adults
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of public and private social service organizations
  • Thorough knowledge of current social, economic, and health problems and of human behavior and social functioning of older adults
  • Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates, and the general public
  • Ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, orally and in writing
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an appropriately accredited institution with two (2) years of supervisor experience OR
  • Associate degree from an appropriately accredited institution of nursing and five (5) years of professional nursing experience with two (2) years of supervisor experience AND
  • Registered Nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing
  • Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license.
This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, kneeling, and lifting; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for peripheral vision, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, and atmospheric conditions. The worker may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment. The County of Moore is a drug-free workplace and Equal Opportunity employer.
