POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Director of Quality Improvement provides administrative oversight of major segments of the continuous Quality Improvement Program for Supports for Living, including but not limited to assessment, development, and oversight of the Quality Management Plan in conjunction with the Director of Quality Improvement, centralized auditing scheduling, and leading assigned committees in addition to overseeing the Quality Improvement Department in the absence of the Director. On call responsibilities as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Director of Quality Improvement and Compliance to supervise Quality Improvement Specialists in the areas of recruitment, selection, leadership, coaching, training, performance management, promotion, discipline, and personnel as identified by the Director
Assume full department leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director
Participate in the development and execution of the Quality Management (QM) Plan with tasks including but not limited to aiding in the collection of necessary reports and analyzing the information for the reporting of the Continuous Quality Improvement reporting to ensure an accurate and complete reflection of Elwyn Jersey's performance as reflected through the Key Performance Indicators collected and reviewed as part of the Quality Management Plan
Continuously assess Elwyn Jersey Policies and Procedures and their adherence to the expectations of provider requirements in the Community Care Program Policies & Procedures Manual as outlined by the Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (NJ DDD) and advises Director of Quality Improvement of same
Assess, develop, and oversee auditing process, tools, and applicable policies as well as training of same for all Elwyn Jersey personnel in coordination with the Corporate Staff Development Department by analyzing and reviewing audit findings, assessing the existing policies for comprehensiveness and develop any policy change as determined necessary; by scheduling and completing training sessions to ensure that areas of non-compliance are properly identified, reported, documented, investigated and followed up in order to improve the services and supports provided
Complete a caseload of audits of services provided, including but not limited to medication audits, chart audits, Continuous Quality Improvement audits, finance audits
Analyze trends and identify factors associated with the occurrence of unusual events in conjunction with the Risk Management department to share findings and help address any training related issues of personnel for corrective action
Serve as the point of contact for communication and follow up with the Jersey Department of Human Services' Office of Program Integrity and Accountability and Office of Investigations, in conjunction with Risk Management, as needed
Work with, understand, and comply with terms and conditions of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) within a unionized environment
Maintain current state-mandated training and certifications to be in regulatory compliance and provide best practices; follow all current policies and procedures of Elwyn Jersey
Cooperate with Elwyn Jersey and the State of Jersey Department of Human Services, or any other authorized investigating body during an inspection or investigation in order to ensure the quality of programs and services
Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid, safe care management, and medication administration using agency-trained protocols
Participate in On Call responsibilities, as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in the field of Human Services (i.e., social work, psychology, education, counseling, etc.) preferred; directly relevant equivalent years of experience in the field of IDD service delivery will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree; Master's Degree will be considered in lieu of the number of years of experience in the field beyond one
Four (4) years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and projects
Non-profit human service experience highly preferred
Previous experience working within a unionized workforce preferred
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
Demonstrated strong attention to detail
Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
Must be able to perform CPR, first aid, safe care and medication administration, using agency-trained protocols
Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience using/knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred
