Construction Quality Control Manager

Position Summary The Quality Control (QC) Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing all quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and applicable standards. The QC Manager coordinates closely with project teams and Government personnel to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within regulatory requirements. Daily Operations Conduct daily site inspections to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and standards Implement the Three-Phase Control Process (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-up) Coordinate and monitor material testing and field inspections Identify deficiencies and ensure timely corrective actions Maintain daily quality control reports and documentation Lead quality meetings and coordinate with subcontractors and project staff Verify materials and installations meet approved submittals Schedule Management Align quality control activities with the project schedule and milestones Coordinate inspections and testing to avoid delays Ensure preparatory and initial inspections are completed prior to work activities Maintain a short-term (2-3 week) QC look-ahead schedule Identify and mitigate quality-related schedule risks Support recovery plans to maintain project timelines Lead the Bi weekly meetings as needed Safety Compliance Ensure all QC activities comply with safety regulations and project safety plans (OSHA) Coordinate with the Site Safety Officer to align safety and quality requirements Participate in safety meetings and site inspections Identify and report unsafe conditions Coordination with Government Personnel Schedule and coordinate Government inspections and testing Submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner Respond to Government comments, deficiencies, and NCRs Attend progress and coordination meetings Ensure all required approvals are obtained prior to critical work Track and close out Government punch list items Documentation and Reporting Prepare and maintain Daily Quality Control Reports (QCRs) Maintain logs for submittals, RFIs, inspections, and NCRs Track deficiencies and corrective actions through closeout Ensure version control of drawings and project documents Project Closeout Ensure all work complies with contract requirements prior to final acceptance Coordinate and manage punch list inspections and closeout Compile complete closeout documentation (test reports, warranties, O&M manuals) Ensure accuracy of as-built drawings Obtain final approvals, permits, and certifications Support final walkthroughs and project acceptance Confirm all quality requirements are fully satisfied Technical Construction Knowledge Strong knowledge of construction methods across civil, structural, and MEP disciplines Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents Experience with site work, utilities, concrete, paving, and earthwork and building repair Knowledge of inspection/testing procedures and QC systems Understanding of submittals, RFIs, and shop drawing processes Experience with federal preferable
