Job Description

Our client, a leading independent manufacturer of industrial products that are used in a wide range of industries is actively searching for a Quality Assurance Director. Our client is a locally owned, privately held, long-term growth-oriented company. The primary responsibilities of this position are supervising, organizing, directing, and measuring all activities performed by the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure the highest levels of safety, service, quality, and productivity are achieved. This position will ultimately be responsible for the all the tactical plans and activities that achieve the strategic direction set forth by the Quality Assurance (QA) Director and other applicable Senior Leadership. This position directly reports to the Vice President of Operations.
Specific responsibilities include:
Motivates, coaches and develops the QA team to deliver optimal results, continuous improvement, profitability, quality, service, and overall operational excellence. Communicates performance expectations and delivers feedback as required. Plans and manages the activities of the QA team to ensure production schedules are met within quality, safety, and operational standards. Provides direction, expertise, and timely resolution to quality-related issues affecting production. Participates and/or conducts investigations, including root cause analysis, related to quality deviations, and develops and executes corrective actions as required. Establishes and/or revises Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs) and best practices related to the QA functions. Provides input to the strategic direction of the department and leads the tactical plans to deliver results. Identifies, leads, and drives continuous improvement opportunities and projects that enhance the quality standards and results set forth by the company and/or customer. Directs and performs all work in a manner that is consistent with the company's quality system including always maintaining a clean and orderly production area. Follows, promotes, and enforces the company's safety and environmental policies, practices, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a science related field preferred. In lieu of degree, a minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory/managerial role in a manufacturing environment Minimum three years of supervisory/lead experience required. Minimum three years in a Quality Assurance role preferred. Experience with standard inspection tools (micrometers, indicators, calipers, etc.) Pressing operation and CMM use are pluses Ability to effectively build and lead a high-performing and engaged team. Strong oral and written communication skills, leadership skills and organizational skills. Self-starter with strong work ethic, positive attitude, and strong attention to detail. Ability to perform multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and manage time efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to promote and participate in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. Strong technical skills, knowledge, and experience in analytical problem solving. Ability to plan ahead to minimize potential issues that may affect the company's growth objectives.
