The Quality Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that all products and processes meet or exceed established quality standards within the manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive quality management systems that align with ISO 9000, NADCAP
standards and other regulatory requirements. The Quality Manager leads supplier quality initiatives, including audits and performance evaluations, to ensure that incoming materials meet stringent quality criteria. By utilizing statistical process control and value stream mapping techniques, the role drives continuous improvement efforts aimed at reducing scrap and enhancing overall operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Quality Manager ensures that quality objectives support business goals, customer satisfaction, and compliance across all manufacturing operations. Minimum Qualifications:
Proven experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of ISO 9000 and NADCAP standards and quality systems implementation Experience with supplier quality management and conducting supplier audits Proficiency in statistical process control and quality data analysis Ability to interpret aerospace specifications and welding inspection methods Preferred Qualifications:
Certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Manager or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred Familiarity with AWS D17.1 and aerospace welding processes (TIG, Orbital, brazing) Advanced skills in quality management software and data visualization tools Previous leadership experience managing quality teams or projects Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems in compliance with ISO 9000
standards Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier quality performance to ensure adherence to quality requirements Utilize statistical process control methods to monitor and improve manufacturing processes Create and maintain control plans and quality documentation to support manufacturing operations and regulatory compliance Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions Analyze quality data and generate reports to communicate performance trends and improvement opportunities to leadership Ensure compliance with AWS D17.1, ASME, and aerospace welding specifications Oversee calibration systems and inspection records Supervise quality inspectors, welding inspectors, and document control personnel Review and manage weld procedures, qualifications, and welder certifications Skills:
The required skills are applied daily to establish and maintain robust quality systems that ensure product and process compliance with industry standards. Supplier quality expertise is essential for conducting thorough audits and fostering strong supplier relationships that uphold quality expectations. Knowledge of ISO 9000
guides the development of standardized procedures and documentation critical for regulatory compliance. Statistical process control techniques are used to monitor production processes, identify variations, and implement corrective actions to improve quality outcomes. Additionally, skills in value stream mapping and scrap reduction enable the Quality Manager to lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
