Job Description

Position Overview Rallenti Pasta is a small, fast-growing dried pasta manufacturer in Portland. We are seeking a dynamic, hardworking, individual to lead our quality assurance effort and help us take Rallenti to the next level. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our quality assurance program. They are responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF system, GFCO, USDA Organic and Oregon Kosher Certifications. The Quality Assurance Manager is a valued member of the leadership team and will report directly to the COO and work closely with the rest of the leadership team on day to day operations. Oversee and maintain all food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance programs, ensuring products meet quality, safety, SQF, GFCO, Kosher, Organic, and customer requirements. Develop, implement, and maintain Food Safety Plans, SOPs, SSOPs, quality standards, traceability systems, and supporting documentation. Conduct product testing, environmental monitoring, GMP inspections, sanitation verification, facility inspections, audits, root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Manage supplier approval programs, incoming raw material, ingredient, and packaging inspections, warehouse quality controls, shipping and receiving processes, product specifications, labeling, traceability records, and quality reporting. Manage outgoing product process. Oversee the Master Sanitation Schedule and verify sanitation effectiveness to ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements. Serve as the primary contact for internal and external audits, certification bodies, customer audits, and regulatory inspections. Lead the Food Safety Team and train employees on food safety, quality, GMPs, and certification requirements to ensure ongoing compliance and program effectiveness. Collaborate with Operations, Production, and Warehouse teams to identify, investigate, and resolve food safety and quality issues while supporting efficient plant operations. Review and approve raw material, ingredient, packaging, and finished product dispositions to ensure compliance with established quality and food safety standards. Qualifications 3-5+ years of experience in food production or manufacturing, preferably in pasta or specialty foods Successfully led a company through a minimum of 1 SQF audit as the SQF Practitioner Strong attention to detail Certified PCQI, HACCP, GMP, and edition 9 SQF Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills Forklift certified Degree in Microbiology or Food Science Technology preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required

$60,000.00 per year
