Competitive compensation with excellent benefits, including Medical, Dental, and Vision care, 401(k) plan with company match, Nine (9) paid holidays About the Steelton Facility The McKeesport facility is part of Dura-Bond's expanding steel pipe manufacturing network and specializes in producing ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) steel pipe used for natural gas transmission, midstream infrastructure, energy projects, and industrial applications. The plant manufactures steel line pipe ranging approximately from 8-inch to 20-inch diameter pipe.. Position Summary The Quality Manager will oversee all aspects of product quality control for the Steelton DSAW pipe manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that production meets or exceeds industry, customer, and internal standards while maintaining compliance with API and other applicable manufacturing certifications. Duties include developing and implementing quality control processes, managing inspection activities throughout the production process, and leading a team of quality and lab personnel. Key Responsibilities
  • Interface with leadership regarding the facility's production capabilities, quality control status, and readiness to meet customer needs
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures; lead by example in promoting a safe work environment
  • Hold the quality team accountable to required performance metrics; maintain a visible, hands-on presence in the lab and on the production floor
  • Oversee and develop Quality and Lab personnel, including hiring, training, and ongoing professional development
  • Implement and maintain inspection, testing, and evaluation methods for DSAW pipe and related production equipment
  • Maintain API certification and all other relevant manufacturing certifications as required
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at quality enhancement and cost reduction
  • Ensure products adhere to stringent quality standards and customer specifications
  • Prepare and analyze quality reports, documenting production issues and recommending corrective actions
  • Track pipe and Plate throughout the manufacturing process with complete accuracy
  • Conduct and document detailed inspections of final pipe in accordance with customer, industry, and API standards Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a quality management role, preferably in steel pipe or heavy manufacturing
  • Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • API Pipe manufacturing experience preferred, DSAW experience highly desirable
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., work in standing positions for extended periods, climb ladders, work overhead, and perform other physical tasks as required
