is a HUBZone-certified, ISO 9001:2015-certified federal design-build general contractor headquartered in Reno, Nevada. We specialize in electrical, fire protection, and telecommunications systems for federal customers including NAVFAC, USACE, GSA, DLA, and IHS. Our work spans 24+ project sites nationally, with a current focus on fire protection and fire alarm system design-build projects for the U.S. Navy under a $240 million indefinite-delivery contract. We are a small, high-performing team where every person has a direct impact on the company's success. Our field staff are not anonymous bodies on a large GC's org chart — they are key members of a company that is growing rapidly and building something meaningful in the federal construction space. The Role We are hiring a Field Superintendent / Quality Control Manager to serve as a field leader on federal design-build projects in the San Diego, CA area. This is not a conventional superintendent or QCM position — we are specifically seeking a licensed journeyman or master electrician who can bring trade-level expertise to the field leadership role. Why an electrician? RX3 is building toward selective self-performance of fire alarm and electrical scopes on our federal contracts. Your journeyman or master electrician credential is the foundation of that capability. In addition to leading projects as superintendent or QCM, you will serve as the qualifying individual for RX3's California C-10 Electrical Contractor license, enabling the company to self-perform fire alarm installation, low-voltage systems, and eventually broader electrical scopes on federal projects. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help build a self-performance capability at a growing federal contractor — not a role where you'll be one of fifty electricians on a mega-project. Work is anticipated to be primarily San Diego County. However, some projects may require temporary assignment to other federal installations in California or nationally. Per diem and travel expenses provided for out-of-area assignments. Primary Responsibilities Field Leadership (Superintendent or QCM, assigned per project) Manage day-to-day construction operations on federal design-build projects at Naval Base San Diego, Naval Base Point Loma, NAS North Island, and Naval Base Coronado and other federal installations Coordinate and oversee trade subcontractors, ensuring work is performed per contract specifications, approved submittals, and applicable codes (NEC, NFPA 72, NFPA 13, UFC) Serve as Superintendent (managing schedule, sub coordination, Government interface) or QCM (executing the three-phase QC inspection system per
UFGS 01 45 00.00 10
), as assigned based on project needs Conduct or support preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections for each definable feature of work Maintain daily field reports, inspection logs, and project documentation Coordinate with the Project Manager on schedule status, cost tracking, and Government correspondence Identify and escalate field issues, differing site conditions, and potential change order items promptly Safety (SSHO-capable, assigned per project) When assigned as
