Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to lead quality assurance and automation strategies for Coaction Specialty Insurance. This role includes overseeing a small, distributed team of employees and contractors across the US and Offshore. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years in a similar leadership role with strong quality assurance expertise, including managing distributed teams and domain knowledge in specialty P&C insurance applications. Experience with Duck Creek Policy is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Team Management:
Direct and mentor a QA team, fostering best practices across all locations. Manage performance, team development, and collaboration across distributed teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product owners, business analysts, engineering teams and other stakeholders to align QA objectives with broader project goals and business requirements. Make quality an integral part of technology delivery and push towards a shift-left approach as much as possible.
Quality Assurance Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy for specialty P&C insurance applications, ensuring high standards across underwriting, claims, and policy systems.
Automation Framework Development:
Lead the design and maintenance of scalable test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, and JUnit.
Test Case Management:
Oversee the creation and validation of test cases, especially within Duck Creek Policy, ensuring alignment with insurance standards.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
Drive improvements in QA processes, exploring new tools and methodologies.
Defect Management & Reporting:
Manage defect resolution efforts, utilizing defect tracking tools to ensure accountability. Measure, track and publish quality metrics in a standardized report/dashboard.
Compliance & Security Standards:
Ensure QA processes adhere to regulatory standards, particularly regarding data security in insurance.
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a director-level or senior leadership role .
People Management:
Experience leading a distributed QA team of both employees and contractors.
Insurance Domain Knowledge:
Strong understanding of specialty P&C insurance, with experience in testing Duck Creek Policy or similar platforms.
Test Automation Expertise:
Proficiency in test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, or TestNG .
Programming Skills:
Experience with Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript .
CI/CD Integration:
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps .
Preferred Skills:
Duck Creek Policy Testing:
Direct experience in Duck Creek Policy is highly preferred.
Agile & Scrum Methodologies:
Experience within Agile or Scrum environments.
Certifications:
ISTQB, Certified Software Tester (CSTE), or other relevant certifications. •T his is not available as a fully remote employment.
