POSITION SUMMARY
Louth Callan is seeking a Quality Manager to represent the Louth Callan Quality Program on project job sites. This individual will work on-site on utility-scale solar and BESS projects for mid-term and long-term assignments, including out-of-state travel. The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the team's Quality field processes across all projects within the Quality and Commissioning team. This role provides strategic direction, technical oversight, and leadership to ensure that all quality requirements, contractual obligations, and industry standards are consistently met. The Quality Manager collaborates closely with Project Delivery and Engineering teams, and External partners to drive a culture of quality excellence and operational discipline. This position is designated as a safety-sensitive role. It requires approximately 70% travel to project sites, including but not limited to Maine, New Hampshire, West Virginia, New York, and New Mexico.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Leadership & Strategic Direction Lead the execution of field quality tasks across all projects. Lead and serve as a resource for Project Delivery and Engineering teams. Implement and manage the team's Quality field execution program to ensure alignment with corporate quality objectives and standards. Manage project quality performance standards and monitor performance against established metrics. Support the development and delivery of training for Quality personnel. Build strong cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels to drive quality outcomes. Demonstrate the ability to resolve cross-cultural conflict in a culturally appropriate and effective manner. Quality Program Execution Lead the execution of site-specific Quality Plans and ensure alignment with project requirements. Lead the implementation of project quality requirements and support the development of Project Quality Plans, including deliverables and due dates. Implement policies and procedures approved by team leadership. Participate in Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) meetings to ensure compliance with project quality standards. Ensure all quality inspections are completed accurately, documented, and on schedule Field Coordination & Oversight Serve as a primary interface between the project team and the on-site Quality team. Lead site walks and manage the Job Book, ensuring project-specific requirements are met, and client-requested changes are communicated. Identify and communicate schedule-related quality risks and challenges tied to project milestones. Leadership & Continuous Improvement Assist in identifying, hiring, training, mentoring, evaluating, and promoting other quality professionals in the team. Assist in training project personnel on field verification and quality processes. Participate in project design document reviews. Collaborate with project leadership to develop lessons learned at project completion. Supports and encourages team members' career learning and development. Identify opportunities to enhance margin and/or minimize risk on projects through means-and-methods, supplier/material selection, and/or design standardization. Documentation & Reporting Complete, review, and maintain quality inspections, submittals, observations, and reports within the Construction Management Software (CMS). Develop and maintain project-specific quality trackers to ensure inspections and documentation are properly logged and maintained. Develop and maintain project-specific job books and turnover packages, ensuring all documentation is complete and contract-compliant. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing quality data for customers and senior management. Ensure successful completion of all construction inspection reports. Quality Control, Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement Lead group-wide quality data collection, dashboard reporting, and trend analysis. Establish and manage quality initiatives, including identification, documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective action for significant quality and warranty issues. Develop, review, and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure closure before equipment energization. Identify opportunities to enhance margin and minimize risk through means and methods improvements, supplier/material selection, and design standardization. Testing & Commissioning Support Support testing and commissioning activities, ensuring all documentation is completed in accordance with contract requirements. Participate in and support pre-commissioning tasks to ensure the project is prepared for testing and commissioning activities. Additional Responsibilities Support and encourage team members' learning and professional development. Coach and mentor project teams to strengthen quality knowledge and execution. Assist in identifying, hiring, training, mentoring, evaluating, and promoting quality professionals within the group. Work directly with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure quality standards are met and maintained. Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support quality objectives. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Qualifications Accredited four-year degree in Engineering or related field with four (4) years of relevant experience, OR a combination of education and directly related experience totaling eight (8) years. Minimum seven (7) years of field quality assurance and/or construction experience. Minimum three (3) years of experience managing personnel. Ability to lead a team and work independently. Technical Skills & Experience Demonstrated experience working in a Design/Build environment. Experience implementing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). Experience with cloud-based construction management systems (e.g., Buildertrend). Strong understanding of OSHA safe workplace practices and procedures. Experience working with subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality standards are maintained. Experience working with Solar PV and medium-voltage (MV) equipment, including commissioning, operation, and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of
SCADA/DAS
systems, communication systems, and related operations. Strong knowledge of utility interconnection equipment, including substations and point-of-interconnection (POI). Experience reviewing electrical component test results. Additional Requirements Valid driver's license. Ability to travel and work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, and walk for 8-10 hours per day. Active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback OSHA 10 certification. Preferred Experience Three (3) years of commissioning experience on utility-scale solar projects. Experience working with substation and high-voltage (HV) equipment. Associate degree in a related field or equivalent education. Experience working with solar tracker systems. Subcontractor and vendor management experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/JOB CONDITIONS
Full-time, salaried position. Hybrid-based role with approximately 70% travel to project sites. Outdoor construction environment with exposure to varying weather conditions. May require work during off-shift hours and weekends. Fast-paced project environment with multiple concurrent priorities.
