Job Description

Job Summary The QA/QC Engineer/Manager is responsible for implementing a robust QA/QC system and managing quality oversight throughout the construction lifecycle. This includes conducting on-site inspections and supervising subcontractors. This hands-on role ensures work is performed according to high-quality standards, adheres to technical specifications, and minimizes risk at project handover. The ideal candidate combines field QA/QC experience with an owner-side mindset, focused on risk mitigation, documentation integrity, and lifecycle value. In this role, you will contribute directly to safe execution, quality assurance, and successful delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company's QA/QC strategy and Quality Management System (QMS) across projects Establish, track, and report key quality KPIs Review and approve Contractor Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and related documentation, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated early Participate in QA/QC coordination meetings with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers Conduct periodic and milestone-based site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and proper installation of systems, including: Medium•and high-voltage electrical collection systems Substations, transformers, and switchgear Inverters, trackers, PV modules, and SCADA systems Battery energy storage systems (containers, PCS, EMS, safety systems) Civil works such as earthworks, grading, drainage, foundations, and structural elements Review testing reports, such as compaction testing, concrete results, and material submittals Maintain QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, test records, and as-built drawings Track quality deficiencies, issue non-conformance reports (NCRs), and coordinate corrective actions Provide regular reporting on quality performance and issue resolution to internal stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline 5+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects, particularly solar PV and/or BESS Strong knowledge of QA/QC systems and inspection processes for relevant equipment and systems Experience developing and managing ITPs, inspection regimes, and QA/QC documentation Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus depending on project location Familiarity with ISO 9001, OSHA, or similar standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools Ability to work on remote job sites and adapt to varying site conditions Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including occasional weekends Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Air Quality Specialist
