This position ensures compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, FSMA, and customer requirements. The QA Manager oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems to maintain product safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all QA functions, including microbiological testing, sensory evaluation, and analytical verification for aseptic beverages. Maintain and continuously improve food safety systems (HACCP) and Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with
FDA, GFSI
standards (BRC) and Organic requirements. Oversee aseptic process validation, environmental monitoring, and sterility assurance programs. Supervise QA staff and lab technicians; coach and train team members on quality standards and aseptic techniques. Review and approve batch records, deviations, corrective actions (CAPA), and change controls. Conduct internal audits and coordinate regulatory inspections (FDA, state, and customer). Partner with production and maintenance to resolve quality issues and prevent reoccurrence. Manage supplier quality verification, including approval, audits, and performance reviews. Ensure calibration and validation of laboratory equipment and aseptic process instrumentation. Lead investigations into consumer complaints, nonconformances, and microbiological deviations. Drive continuous improvement in quality metrics and support new product commercialization.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field (Master's preferred).
Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years in QA/QC leadership within an FDA-regulated food or beverage manufacturing environment; aseptic or ultra-high-temperature (UHT) experience strongly preferred.
Certifications:
HACCP, PCQI, and
BRC/ SQF
Practitioner (preferred).
Knowledge of:
FDA 21 CFR
Part 113/114 (Thermally Processed Low-Acid and Acidified Foods) GMPs and FSMA Preventive Controls Environmental Monitoring and Aseptic Validation Laboratory management and data integrity principles Strong leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills. Working Conditions On-site position in a controlled manufacturing environment. Must be able to wear appropriate PPE and work in both ambient and refrigerated production areas.
