Position Overview Our quality control managers have overall quality responsibility for assigned projects and are responsible for quality and commissioning direction through subordinate QA/QC assistant managers and QA/QC inspectors. This position supervises the work of others including assistant quality control managers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assists in creating company standards for quality and commissioning procedures, including written programs and procedures. Assists in developing quality control and commissioning programs. Supervises activities of QA/QC personnel on assigned projects. Assists in training/orientation of employees. Assists in the employment process. Assists in scheduling functions as required. Assists in personnel assignments. Trains assistant superintendents in some QA/QC facets. Manages QA/QC and commissioning protocols on assigned projects. Manages building envelope commissioning processes. Develops and trains QA/QC workforce. Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction. Performs other duties and services to ensure projects are delivered successfully and client is satisfied. Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality. Education and Training Four-year degree in construction, engineering or related field. Minimum 15 years construction experience with 10 years in field as a builder on large, complex projects. Experience with healthcare, higher education, and/or laboratory projects with a commercial general contractor preferred. Must be a qualified commissioning process provider. Extensive experience in the management of large construction projects with significant self-performance. Extensive knowledge of means and methods - significant emphasis on MEP work. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience. Knowledge of financial operations, marketing, estimating, and employee relations. Additional Abilities Lift 50 pounds Move 100 pounds Work under exposure to inclement weather conditions Climb scaffolds Climb ladders Walk projects to supervise work being installed Drive vehicle for company business Ability to walk several flights of stairs on high rise buildings
