Full-time Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Quality Control. Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient mechanical skills, proficient PC skills, including Internet; demonstrated supervisory skills; visual and auditory skills.Working conditions:
Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less; operate heavy machinery, power tools, or equipment; drive a motor vehicle or commercial vehicle; work at elevated heights or in confined spaces; and handle hazardous, volatile, or flammable materials.Experience:
Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in tank car repair or manufacturing with knowledge of AAR and FRA regulations. Knowledge of Non-destructive Testing (NDT) inspection processes, including VT and PT, as well as AWS-CWI certification. General Responsibilities The Quality Control Manager is responsible to ensure that the facility produces safe, compliant, and high-quality products, meeting all customer, company, and industry standards (AAR/FRA). This role acts as the primary audit liaison, drives continuous improvement through root cause analysis and develops/trains personnel on quality protocols. This position falls under the company's safety-sensitive category. Successful candidates must comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including a zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy and are subject to pre-employment, random, post-incident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing. Essential Duties Conducts internal audits of the facility to ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements and serves as audit liaison and response coordinator for customers, AAR, and FRA audits. Directly supervises assigned personnel as follows: Assists in the selection of new personnel as appropriate. Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel; Develops and trains personnel on quality assurance, special processes, and work instruction procedures. Trains supervisors further in quality processes so they can continue to promote quality to improve plant operations. Reviews employee performance throughout the orientation period and on a regular scheduled basis thereafter. Organizes, schedules, and distributes work among assigned personnel. Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the department and/or their jobs; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged. facility certification programs are current and meet customer and regulatory requirements. Ensures product quality at the assigned facility meets all customers, company, industry, and regulatory requirements. Ensures the repair facility's quality assurance program and repair practices meet all regulatory requirements. Familiarity with quality process improvement tools such as 5Y, Fishbone, and PDCA is essential for the performance of root cause analysis and development of corrective/preventive actions as well as investigation of customer complaints and audit findings. Implements and manages processes to measure quality and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement based on data provided, procedures, and policies. Participates in and actively supports quality projects, activities, and Responsible Care initiatives to ensure that the Company achieves its goals. Possess the ability to perform the essential functions over a large geographical plant area. Possess keen visual and audio acuity to recognize various shop danger warning signals to avoid injuries and promote a safe working environment. Strong knowledge of procedures/standards, AAR/DOT regulations, customer procedures, and other technical areas such as tank car repair practices, NDT, inspection, welding, tank car parts/components, and coatings. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company's compliance with all regulatory requirements. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.Pay:
$85,000.00- $95,000.
