Igloo also has a growing direct-to-consumer (DTC) business, allowing us to build direct relationships with our consumers. In 2021, Igloo was acquired by Dometic Brands, creating the opportunity to globally grow both brands together. Built on a legacy of quality and innovation, we are seeking a Quality Control Manager to join our team and support our continued growth. This role will be involved in controls and audit manufacturing processes to coordinate cross functional teams to improve overall manufacturing performance, eliminate and/or reduce waste, improve quality, reduce scrap/rework costs and improve delivery.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive continuous product improvement through the use of quality systems to identify quality improvement needs, work with managers to drive execution of key quality improvements. Provide Manufacturing Quality Support 24/7. Ensure new products are properly handed off from QA to QC and critical to quality characteristics are well defined to ensure safe and on specs launch of new products. Responsible for ensuring new product introductions are flawless with respect to internal and customer quality needs, coordinating activities for post launch of new products, ensuring ramp up and run at rate followed by continually driving process control improvement. Responsible for developing and implementing standards and non-standard works for the quality department. Responsible for working with the manufacturing team to drive scrap reduction Responsible for ensuring the execution of quality plans as a part of the standard work. Identifies needs for go and no-go gauges, Poka-Yoke, critical to quality characteristics alongside other quality tools. Supervises auditors and technicians to ensure these quality tools are properly used and strictly followed. Identify top quality issues and develop a quality cadence to review and address the issues cross-functionally through corrective and preventive actions. Review and control qualification and development activities as it relates to new products, new processes and process changes. Manage, motivate and train quality staff. Review and analyze statistical data to ensure continuous process control. Ensure that existing inspection, SPC, and electronic database systems are accurate and functioning properly. Investigate and determine root causes and implement corrective actions through RCCA for major quality excursions and other major manufacturing issues. Ensure issues are properly communicated and escalated as needed. Work within a cross functional group for continuous improvement, process improvement and preventive action initiatives. Perform capability analysis and provide improvements to inspection methods and gauging for existing and new processes. Provide leadership and show eagerness to learn and demonstrate technical expertise for various manufacturing and laboratory processes. Provide Technical reports summarizing investigations, qualifications, and experiments as required. Maintains constant situational awareness of 360-degree surroundings to ensure personal and team safety in high-traffic areas. Perceives and responds to all safety signals, including backup alarms, horns, and visual alerts from moving equipment (forklifts, conveyors). Other duties as assigned. What do we offer? Minimum seven (8) years quality experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with experience in Plastics Molding. three (3) years supervisory experience.English language skills:
Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.Math skills:
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.Physical Demands:
Office and manufacturing environment. Skills in quality documentation - FMEA, Control plans, problem solving, MSA, PPAP and 8D. To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics: Worked with ISO certification process.Education:
Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or equivalent technical degrees). Working Knowledge of Six Sigma Processes.ISO 9001
experience in auditing and implementing. ASQ accreditation as a CQE/CQM. Supplier Quality Background. Lean Manufacturing experience. Physical Demands & Conditions (Applicable to Igloo Operators, Technicians, Leaders, and Other Roles in Manufacturing)Sensory Perception:
Must be able to effectively exchange information with supervisors and team members regarding production goals and immediate safety hazards.Situational Awareness:
Must be able to safely navigate a warehouse environment characterized by moving mechanical parts and high-volume industrial vehicle traffic. Standing & Walking Roles may involve extended periods (up to 12 hours) of standing and walking, including moving at a brisk pace and occasional stair climbing. Postural Requirements Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in low or awkward positions during production or maintenance tasks. Lifting & Material Handling Operator-level roles may involve lifting up to 25 lb repeatedly throughout the shift. Technician-level roles may involve lifting up to 50 lb multiple times per day, including overhead lifts. Where possible, mechanical aids (e.g., hoists, forklifts) are used. Fine Motor Skills & Tool Use Use of both hands is required to operate tools, perform adjustments, and handle assembly materials with precision. Visual Requirements Sufficient visual acuity (e.g., 20/40 with or without correction) is necessary for tasks involving inspection and safe equipment operation.Work Environment High noise level:
Environment requires the ability to safely work around loud machinery and may require use of hearing protection; employees must be able to recognize emergency alerts within this environment. Environmental Conditions Work is performed in a production setting where seasonal temperatures may range from 100-120°F (with humidity) in summer to cooler conditions in winter. High noise levels are common; hearing protection is provided and required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and protective clothing may be required depending on the task. Additional Job Considerations These roles can be physically demanding, involving repetitive motions and long hours. Technicians may be required to handle heavy molds and materials; use of material handling equipment is provided and encouraged.
