Job Description:
The Quality Testing Supervisor oversees construction materials testing activities supporting quality assurance and quality control operations. This role ensures all field and laboratory testing is performed in accordance with project specifications, approved procedures, contract requirements, and applicable industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate field and laboratory testing activities for construction materials
  • Review, verify, and approve testing reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Ensure testing follows approved methods and applicable standards (AASHTO, ASTM, WSDOT, contract requirements)
  • Supervise QA Testing Technicians and support training, certification, and development
  • Maintain testing schedules aligned with construction activities and coordinate resources across project teams
  • Oversee calibration, certification, and readiness of testing equipment and laboratory compliance requirements
  • Maintain quality records, support NCR documentation, and assist with testing data analysis and acceptance criteria
  • Partner with project management, QA inspectors, laboratories, owner representatives, and agencies to resolve testing and quality issues
  • Support implementation of Quality Management Plans (QMP), audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Materials Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
  • 5+ years in construction materials testing, QA/QC, or related experience; supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with heavy civil, transportation, bridge, roadway, infrastructure, and DOT projects preferred
  • Certifications such as ACI, WAQTC, Nuclear Density Gauge, and familiarity with
AASHTO R-18
preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with quality management systems and construction document controls preferred
