Quality Control/Certified Welding Inspector

Steel fabricator in Anniston/Oxford is looking for QC/CWI for first and second shift. 1st shift: 4a-2:30p M-F 2nd shift: 3p- 1:30a M-Th.

Job Description:

QC Inspector is to ensure all materials are detailed/fabricated/welded/and inspected to contract drawings and other customer specified documents. QC Inspector is to ensure work performed by individuals at work is completed within company procedures and required codes and/or specifications.

Responsibilities & Expectations:

QC Inspector/CWI shall be familiar with all AWS Welding codes and applicable standards. Must be familiar with Welding Procedures and Standard Practices for Welding and Heating. Must be able to interpret Welding Symbols and Joint Details and relay that information to employees on the floor when necessary. Must be able to use all Welding gages for inspection and determinations of concurrence. QC personnel is to have a working knowledge of the following: Inspection Tools, Gages, Drawings, and Materials used throughout the shop. QC personnel is to make sure material is checked in a timely manner that does not prevent production from attaining their goals within the area. QC personnel is make sure all paper work and tags are scanned & filled out properly to ensure all materials are identified correctly. QC personnel are to complete 1 Welding Audit per week with records retained in the QA office. QC personnel are to attend all tool box meetings, safety meetings, and QC/QA meetings as required. QC personnel can be re-assigned to any area or position depending on the company needs based upon your ability and knowledge. All QC personnel are expected to handle themselves in a professional manner at all times when communicating with employees or co-workers.

Tools Required:

Basic QC tools shall be Framing Squares, Half Square, Combination Square, Measuring Tapes (35,50,100), Magnets/Clamps, Welding gages, Angle finders, Markers, Chalk, I-Pads, Flashlights, Drawings, etc. QC personnel should also possess Computer Skills for inputing and documenting QC related materials.

Pay:

$30.00 - $45.00 per hour
