Job Title:
Quality Control Technician Job Description As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for selecting products and preparing samples for tests at specified stages in the production process. You will test products for various qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical or chemical characteristics according to required standards. You will set up and perform both destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, and material characteristics as required. Your time will be divided into three stages: lab desk, testing, and on the floor. Each shift begins where the previous shift left off, and you will rotate through the three stages during your shift, ensuring clear communication with the next shift. Responsibilities + Select products and prepare samples for testing at specified stages in the production process. + Conduct tests on products for dimensions, performance, and mechanical or chemical characteristics according to standards. + Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, and material characteristics. + Rotate through lab desk, testing, and on-floor stages during shifts. + Communicate progress and findings to the following shift. Essential Skills + Proficiency in quality control techniques. + Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. + Skill in reading blueprints. + Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with quality assurance processes. + Experience working in a laboratory setting. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a machine shop environment that is not climate controlled, meaning it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
The shifts are as follows:
Second shift is from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, third shift is from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and there is a weekend day shift (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, where you will work 36 hours and be paid for 40.
