Job Description

Overview Ready to get your hands dirty and build a career from the ground up? Join Building & Earth as an Engineering Technician Trainee and learn on-site construction materials testing, drilling support, and geotechnical field work — no prior experience required. Start at $17+/hr and grow into certified technician roles with paid training and mentorship. Responsibilities What you'll do
  • Work on active construction sites performing basic materials tests and field observations (concrete, soils, asphalt) under supervision
  • Assist drill crews and technicians with sample collection, equipment setup, and basic lab tasks
  • Record accurate field data, prepare reports, and maintain test equipment.
  • Follow safety plans and site-specific procedures to keep people and projects safe
  • Complete company-provided training and pursue industry certifications (ACI, ICC, NICET) with company support. What you'll do

  • Starting pay: $17+/hour (depending on relevant experience)

  • No experience required — we'll train you. Candidates with basic construction skills, outdoor work experience, or a mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Able to lift ~50 lbs, stand and move outdoors for long periods, and work in varied weather.
  • Strong attention to detail, dependable, and comfortable working as part of a crew.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
