05/14/26 ________________________________________ Role Purpose The CMM Programmer / Operator is responsible for developing inspection programs, operating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment, and performing dimensional inspections to verify product conformance to customer specifications and engineering requirements. This role supports the Quality Management System through accurate inspection reporting, documentation control, and compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements. ________________________________________ Scope & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Perform assigned duties in accordance with documented procedures and work instructions. Develop accurate CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, Keyence XM software, or similar inspection software. Set up, program, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), including traditional fixed and articulated-arm systems. Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, sine plates, and portable 3D measuring systems. Interpret engineering drawings, model-based definition (MBD) files, specifications, and GD&T requirements. Conduct inspections on raw materials, components, subassemblies, and finished products to verify conformance with customer and company requirements. Generate detailed dimensional inspection reports and maintain accurate inspection records. Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and prepare AS9102-compliant documentation. Document nonconforming conditions and generate nonconformance reports as required. Design or assist with work holding and special tooling required for inspection of complex parts and assemblies. Support implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100 standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures. Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve inspection or quality-related issues. Perform other duties as assigned. ________________________________________ Work Experience & Skills Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training or certification in Quality Inspection, Metrology, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred. Experience Minimum of three (3) years of experience in CMM programming and quality inspection within a manufacturing environment preferred. Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
Skills / Knowledge
Proficiency in CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, and/or Keyence XM software. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and CAD models. Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment. Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 Quality Management Systems. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy. Personal Attributes Detail-oriented and quality-focused. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. ________________________________________ Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Work environment consists primarily of a manufacturing facility and inspection lab setting. Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday. Frequent use of computers, keyboards, and inspection equipment. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed.
