1:30 PM to 10pm About the Role ADC Aerospace is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior CMM Programmer/Operator to lead dimensional inspection and metrology initiatives within our aluminum die cast manufacturing operation. This critical role will be responsible for developing advanced CMM programs, driving measurement accuracy, mentoring team members, and supporting quality and manufacturing objectives. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in metrology, GD&T, and CMM programming who thrives in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. Essential Duties Lead the development, modification, validation, and optimization of CMM programs using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar software platforms. Create inspection routines from 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and customer specifications. Perform and oversee First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections. Interpret complex GD&T requirements and verify conformance to engineering specifications and customer requirements. Support engineering validation, process capability studies (CPK/PPK), PPAP activities, and root cause investigations. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Production teams to improve processes and product quality. Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior CMM operators and quality personnel. Develop and maintain inspection reports, calibration records, work instructions, and metrology documentation. Evaluate new metrology technologies and recommend improvements to inspection methods and equipment. Serve as the CMM and metrology subject matter expert during customer audits, internal audits, and quality reviews. Identify dimensional concerns and drive corrective and preventive actions in support of continuous improvement initiatives. Promote best practices related to measurement systems, programming standards, and quality compliance. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience programming and operating CMM equipment in a manufacturing environment. Advanced proficiency with PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent CMM programming software. Expert-level knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint interpretation. Strong experience conducting First Article Inspections (FAI). Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and corrective action processes. Knowledge of
ISO 9001, IATF
16949, and quality management systems. Familiarity with quality analysis software such as Minitab, Q-DAS, or similar platforms. Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and support multiple manufacturing and quality initiatives. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing Technology, Metrology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Experience within aluminum die casting, aerospace, automotive, or precision metal component manufacturing environments. Hands-on experience with Zeiss, Mitutoyo, or Hexagon CMM equipment. Prior leadership experience overseeing CMM programmers, inspectors, or metrology teams. Knowledge of casting defects, machining tolerances, and aluminum alloy properties.
