Quality Inspection Lead Job Description The Quality Inspector Lead is responsible for interpreting inspection requirements and standards, mentoring and training inspection personnel, and optimizing the flow of material inspection tasks. This role involves fostering 5S and Lean disciplines, ensuring standard operating procedures are followed, and substituting in the supervisor's absence. The inspector may also support MRB, First Article, Metric development, and special projects as directed. Responsibilities Interpret inspection requirements and standards for the inspection team. Mentor and train inspection personnel. Prioritize and manage daily material inspection tasks to optimize flow. Foster 5S and Lean disciplines within the inspection team and work areas. Ensure standard operating procedures are followed. Substitute in supervisor's absence. Recommend adjustments to operating standards and inspection methods to optimize flow. Support MRB, First Article, Metric development, and special projects. Essential Skills Quality inspection using micrometer and measuring tools. Experience with plastic and metal testing. GD&T Electrical Blueprint Reading a MUST Proficiency in computer systems. Attention to detail. Blueprint reading and quality assurance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Possess all high level inspector qualifications. Ability to train others in inspection skills and techniques. Excellent verbal, reading, and writing skills. Ability to lead and motivate departmental personnel. Expertise in IPC solder requirements and mechanical measurement techniques. 6+ years of related experience. Employees work in shifts:
1st shift from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm and 2nd shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. The facility features a break room with microwaves, refrigerators, self-serve kiosks for food, and multiple TVs. There are both indoor and outdoor seating areas for relaxation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
