Job Description

We are seeking a motivated, success driven, people-oriented Electronics Receiving Inspector to join our manufacturing company in Carson, California, in the building of small volumes of custom designed Defense/Aerospace Power Supply systems and modules. Under general supervision and reporting to Quality Operations, the Electronics Receiving Inspector is responsible for performing inspection operations of in-process or completed hardware, including dimensional, and visual inspection. The source inspection may include reviewing all paperwork relating to the product at hand. This includes operations such as Final Inspection, Receiving Inspection, Outside processing, and Assembly.
Responsibilities:
  • Have an extensive knowledge of inspection procedures, processes, devices and aids in a manufacturing environment and comprehensive knowledge of inspection concepts and principles including the ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, procedures and manuals.
  • Process daily inspections of incoming raw material, products, parts, articles, to meet Quality Control requirements as stated in the Quality Control Manual.
  • Read and interpret specifications and drawings, perform inspection of incoming material prior to release to stock.
  • Work closely with Quality Control Inspectors, Project Engineering, Quality Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure that all inspection activities are performed in compliance with process work documents.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs and inputting data into quality database.
  • Ensures that in-process inspections are completed per engineering specifications during the production process.
  • Must be able to work from drawings for visual dimensional inspection of purchased or manufactured products utilizing measuring instruments.
  • Identify workmanship defects and initiate a non-conformance report or discrepancy report for non-conforming products.
  • Utilize various inspection tools such as microscopes, calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc… and check dimensions/processes on parts or raw material to ensure compliance to manufacturing drawings, specifications and BOMs.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years' experience in quality inspection of electronics.
Preferred:
2+ years' experience in an electronics / aerospace / power supply manufacturing facility.
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in dimensional and visual inspection of aerospace machined components.
  • Experience with IPC-A-610 and
J-STD-001.
  • Ability to analyze information and report research results.
  • Experience with production processes for fabricated metal parts and printed circuit assemblies.
  • Good working knowledge and experience with manufacturing assembly and test.
  • A background in production or prior military experience in the electronics field.
  • Understand chemical use and safety.
  • Ability to communicate, oral and written, clearly in English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team setting, be flexible and exhibit an eagerness to learn and take on new tasks.
