Job Description

Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented IPC Certified Quality Inspector to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that all incoming materials, in-process components, and final products meet Custom Power's specifications. The successful candidate will perform inspections, maintain accurate records, and support our quality management system to ensure product integrity and compliance.
Job Duties:
Inspection:
Inspect incoming materials per applicable drawings, specifications, and purchase order notes. Perform in-process and final inspections of components and assemblies. Take precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, rulers, multimeters, and other measuring devices to ensure product conformity. Identify and segregate nonconforming materials, issue red-tags, and initiate nonconformance reports.
Documentation and Recordkeeping:
Accurately enter and maintain inspection records in ERP and other company systems. Support traceability and documentation requirements per ISO and AS9100 standards.
Collaboration:
Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Assist in first article inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Adhere to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls and other quality-related standards. Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Conduct quality audits to assess adherence to established processes and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with project management teams to integrate quality assurance practices throughout the product lifecycle. Monitor and analyze quality control metrics, providing insights and recommendations for process enhancements. Ensure compliance with ISO standards by maintaining effective quality systems. Facilitate root cause analysis for product non-conformities and implement corrective actions as necessary. Support the development of training materials related to quality assurance practices for staff members. Participate in cross-functional teams to promote a culture of quality throughout the organization. Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or additional certifications preferred. 2+ years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in electronics or manufacturing environments. Experience inspecting electrical assemblies, PCBAs, cables and wire harnesses, mechanical assemblies, machined, and injection-molded components. Proficiency with visual magnification devices (microscopes, etc.) and mechanical measuring tools. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and collaborate as part of a team. Experience with AS9100 Quality Management Systems is a plus Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection is a plus
