Analyst Contract Role:
3-6 months (40 hours per week)
Location:
Sun Valley, CA (Hybrid-3 days per week in office) Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable QA Analyst to support our digital platform initiatives, including our eCommerce website and customer portal. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality releases through structured testing, clear documentation, and close collaboration with Product and Engineering teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can balance structured testing with rapid validation for hotfixes, and is comfortable evolving processes as the platform scales. Key Responsibilities Test Planning & Execution Develop, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes Write clear, reusable test scripts for both manual and future automated testing Perform functional, regression, and end-to-end testing across web and portal experiences Validate integrations across systems User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Lead and support UAT cycles with business stakeholders Translate business requirements and PRDs into test scenarios Ensure all acceptance criteria are met prior to release Provide clear sign-off recommendations based on test results Defect Management & Logging Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, severity, and impact Maintain an organized and efficient defect log with proper prioritization Partner closely with Engineering to triage, retest, and validate fixes Ensure regression coverage for resolved issues Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product Management, Developers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and expected behavior Participate in sprint planning, standups, and release discussions Act as a quality advocate across all digital initiatives Continuous Improvement & Scalability Help define and improve QA processes, standards, and documentation Support the evolution toward automated testing where applicable Adapt testing approaches to support rapid releases, hotfixes, and ongoing enhancements Contribute to building a scalable QA function as digital products grow Required Qualifications 2-5+ years of QA experience in web, eCommerce, or customer-facing applications Experience writing structured test cases and test scripts Strong understanding of end-to-end testing across web applications Proven ability to log and manage defects in a clear, organized manner Experience working closely with development teams in agile environments Ability to balance thorough testing with speed and business priorities Preferred Qualifications Experience testing integrated systems (e.g., CRM like Salesforce, ERP, payment platforms) Familiarity with tools like ClickUp, Jira, or similar test/defect management systems Exposure to test automation frameworks or tools Experience with eCommerce platforms and customer portals Understanding of API testing and basic technical debugging Key Traits for Success Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Proactive and adaptable in a fast-moving environment Strong communicator who can clearly articulate issues and risks Comfortable working on both planned releases and urgent bug fixes Ownership mindset with a focus on delivering a high-quality customer experience
