Quality Control (QC) Technician Taurus Engineering - 3.3 Long Beach, CA Job Details Full-time $22 - $25 an hour 15 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Clerk to inspect and verify incoming materials and parts against company specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with precision measuring tools and a sharp eye for identifying defects or non-conformances before they enter production. Key Responsibilities Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and parts upon delivery to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to perform precise dimensional measurements Compare measured results against engineering drawings, blueprints, and tolerance specifications Document inspection results, including measurements, defects, and discrepancies, in QC logs or quality management systems Tag, quarantine, or reject non-conforming materials and notify the appropriate supervisor or vendor Maintain accurate records of inspections, including date, lot/batch numbers, and inspector sign-off Calibrate and maintain measuring equipment, reporting any malfunctions or inconsistencies Communicate with suppliers, purchasing, and production teams regarding quality issues or material holds Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for recurring quality issues Support audits (internal, customer, or regulatory) by providing inspection records and documentation Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized inspection area Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in quality control or metrology a plus 1-3 years of experience in a QC, inspection, or manufacturing environment preferred Proficiency with precision measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs (coordinate measuring machines) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specification sheets Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, QMS software, or ERP systems) Understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001 or industry-specific certifications is a plus Good communication skills for reporting findings to supervisors and cross-functional teams Ability to stand, lift (up to 25-50 lbs), and work on your feet for extended periods in a warehouse or production environment Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Prior experience in manufacturing industry [e.g., automotive, aerospace, electronics manufacturing] What We Offer Competitive hourly wage or salary commensurate with inspection experience and metrology skills Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits 401(k) plan with company match Paid time off and company-observed holidays
