The Level 3 Final Quality Assurance (FQA) Inspector ensures that finished products meet all quality, compliance, and customer requirements. This senior-level role includes performing complex inspections, mentoring junior inspectors, supporting process improvements, and ensuring adherence to IPC-610A and ISO standards.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Perform inspections and check sampling procedures: Conduct thorough cosmetic and functional inspections for PCBA and box builds. Evaluate non-conforming solder joint defects on PTH and SMT components. Perform online Go/No-Go inspections to confirm compliance with
IPC-610A.
Validate final products before shipment to ensure full compliance with
ISO 900X, ISO
13485, and
ISO 14001
standards. Monitor and operate critical equipment and instrumentation: Read and interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, MPI, ECN, Deviation, and other manufacturing documentation. Record inspection results accurately and support shop floor control systems. Compose NCRs for non-conforming materials and ensure proper data entry in ERP systems.
Provide team support and leadership:
Mentor and train junior FQA inspectors. Share best practices and assist in troubleshooting complex issues. Actively participate in cross-training programs and process improvement initiatives. Escalate process and quality issues to peers, leads, supervisors, and engineers appropriately.
Continuous improvement and compliance:
Identify recurring quality issues and propose corrective actions. Participate in internal audits and support compliance with all applicable regulations. Ensure adherence to ESD practices, proper material handling, and NCR systems.
Other duties:
Perform any additional quality assurance tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's/Bachelor's in Engineering or QA preferred.
IPC-610A
certification required; advanced QA certifications preferred. Minimum 8 years in QA/FQA or EMS inspection roles, including experience with complex assemblies. Strong technical skills in inspection tools (DMM, OMM, Microscope, AOI, AXI, Dage X-ray). Proficient in document control, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
