Dimensional Quality Assurance Inspector — Machined Components Hire Talent Group Orange, CA Job Details $25 - $30 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications Manufacturing facility Manufacturing Full Job Description A day in the life You start your shift by reviewing shop travelers and engineering drawings for a new aerospace part run. First-article inspections kick off your morning, followed by in-process checks at the machines and a slate of final inspections in the afternoon. Throughout the day, you navigate an AS9100 and ISO9001-certified quality system, documenting results with precision and partnering with machinists to keep small- and medium-sized metal and plastic components within spec for aerospace, defense, and commercial customers. What you will do Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on precision-machined parts (metals and plastics). Interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications; align work with shop travelers and quality procedures. Use metrology equipment to verify dimensions and features, record results, and escalate nonconformances when required. Support certificate review for outside processing (heat treat, anodize, plating, passivation, etc.). Tools and techniques you'll rely on Optical and video comparators Surface plates and height gages Micrometers and calipers Plug and ring thread gages Pin gages Basic calibration methods Working knowledge of AMS and MIL standards What you bring 3-7 years in a job shop environment with minimal supervision required; you're a self-starter. Proficiency reading intricate engineering drawings and following work instructions via shop travelers. Uncompromising attention to detail and a precision mindset. Familiarity with true positioning and GD&T is a plus.
