We are looking for an experienced Receiving Inspector for specialized manufacturer of precision, near-net-shape aluminum forgings and machined components, primarily serving the aerospace, defense, and commercial aircraft industries located in Orange, CA. Performs inspection of forged, machined, and finished parts and assemblies throughout all stages of production, including receiving, in-process, layout/FAI, and final inspection activities. Performs receiving inspection of outside services, raw material, hardware, and standards. Responsible for verifying product conformity to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality requirements while ensuring accurate material traceability, documentation, and processing compliance. Supports Outside Processing (OSP) activities by verifying and counting parts shipped to and returned from outside suppliers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(But not limited to the following) Performs in-process, layout, receiving, and final inspections of forged, machined, and finished products utilizing precision measuring devices and inspection equipment. Utilizes surface plates, calipers, bore gages, micrometers, height gages, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional conformity. Performs receiving inspection of raw material, purchased parts, standards, hardware, and outside processing services. Verifies quantities and counts of parts being shipped to Outside Processing (OSP) suppliers and confirms quantities upon return from OSP suppliers. Ensures all outside processing documentation, certifications, and test reports are accurate, complete, and compliant with customer and internal requirements. Performs layout inspections and supports First Article Inspection (FAI) activities as required. Reviews completed work orders, routers, inspection records, certifications, and test data to ensure entries are complete, accurate, and legible. Ensures material traceability, processing certifications, assembly activities, testing requirements, and work-in-process meet customer and internal quality requirements. Interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, customer specifications, process specifications, diagrams, and inspection procedures to verify product compliance. Utilizes ERP systems, online databases, and electronic media to review specifications, enter inspection data, monitor work-in-progress status, and maintain records. Maintains inspection records, quality files, and supporting documentation in accordance with AS9100 and company requirements. Assists with internal audits, customer audits, and quality surveillances as requested. Prepares and communicates inspection findings and nonconformance information when required. Works independently with minimal supervision while prioritizing workload to meet production schedules and quality requirements. Confers with supervision regarding quality concerns, discrepancies, or issues impacting product conformity or delivery. Supports and ensures compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, customer, and company Quality Management System requirements. QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree (AA) from a two-year college or technical school preferred; or a minimum of two years related inspection experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum of four years of related aerospace manufacturing inspection experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements. Knowledge of inspection methods, precision measuring equipment, and aerospace quality standards. Ability to prepare quality reports and communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal departments. Basic computer skills and ability to utilize ERP systems, inspection software, and electronic documentation systems. Ability to apply mathematical concepts and follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions. Familiarity with AS9100 quality requirements and material traceability requirements preferred.
