Job Title:
Quality Control (QC) Technician Job Summary The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying electronic components, assemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. This role requires hands-on soldering experience, attention to detail, and the ability to identify defects while supporting continuous improvement and compliance with quality requirements. Key Responsibilities Inspect electronic components, subassemblies, and finished products for quality, workmanship, and compliance with specifications Perform hands-on soldering, rework, and touch-ups on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies as required Evaluate solder joints for quality, defects, and compliance with IPC or internal workmanship standards Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using appropriate tools and test equipment Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials or process deviations Accurately complete inspection records, quality reports, and documentation Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to support root cause analysis and corrective actions Ensure adherence to safety guidelines, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements Assist with audits, quality improvement initiatives, and process validations as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred) Previous experience as a QC Technician, Inspector, or similar quality role in an electronics or manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience with hand soldering and rework of electronic components Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and work instructions Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting Effective communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications IPC soldering certification (IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, or similar) Experience working in regulated or high-reliability environments Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO or AS standards Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production setting All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
