Full Job Description Aerospace Quality Inspector Locations:
San Jose, CA (2 openings) and Salinas, CA (2 openings) Join an innovative aerospace company developing all-electric aircraft designed to advance sustainable air mobility. This team is building the future of flight through cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do:
Execute receiving, in-process, and final inspections of electrical components, electronic assemblies, and PCBs for defects or deviations from design specifications Document defects and nonconformances and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve issues Review completed manufacturing operations to ensure compliance with quality requirements Support the development of inspection plans, including inspection and testing of harnesses Assist with FAA conformity inspections to support the aircraft certification process Complete AS9102 First Article Inspections Support Advanced Product Quality Planning activities, including PFMEAs, control plans, and SPC initiatives
What You Need:
High school diploma or equivalent 5+ years of hands-on inspection experience in aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing environment Experience using inspection tools such as microscopes, thread gauges, pin gauges, micrometers, calipers, and height gauges Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and quality specifications Experience reviewing tolerances and verifying dimensional requirements Working knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements Experience using MES systems such as SAP and electronic inspection plans Understanding of measurement terminology, accuracy versus precision, and proper selection of measuring tools Basic calibration knowledge Ability to identify inspection errors and nonconformances and initiate corrective actions Understanding of sampling methods and lot acceptance practices Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
IPC-A-610 and/or
IPC/WHMA-A-620
certification, or the ability to obtain certification Associate degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field ASQ Certified Quality Inspector certification FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate Working knowledge of GD&T and the X, Y, Z coordinate system If you're passionate about quality and want to contribute to the future of aerospace innovation, we'd love to hear from you.
