Job Description

Quality Inspector- Contractor This position is intended for early to mid-level quality professionals supporting manufacturing operations as a Quality Inspector. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform in-process and final inspections of medical devices to ensure products conform to established specifications, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Inspector supports routine production activities by executing inspections, accurately documenting results in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and escalating quality issues as required, contributing to the release of safe and compliant products. Department Quality Employment Type Contract Location US-California-San Jose Workplace type Onsite Role expectations Perform in-process and final inspections of manufactured products in accordance with approved procedures and inspection plans. Verify product conformance to drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria. Document inspection results accurately in inspection records and Device History Records (DHRs) in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Support final product release activities by ensuring inspection documentation is complete, legible, accurate, and compliant. Identify, document, and escalate nonconforming material in accordance with established quality procedures. Communicate inspection results and quality issues to appropriate manufacturing and quality personnel in a timely manner. Maintain inspection tools, gauges, and equipment in applicable working condition. Perform work in compliance with applicable quality system requirements, training, and safety policies. Provide inspection documentation and records to support internal and external audits as requested. What we're looking for
Education:
Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Experience:
Typically 2-4 years of experience performing quality inspections or manufacturing support activities in a regulated environment; medical device experience preferred.
Knowledge and skills:
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications; experience using basic measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges); working knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Communication and teamwork:
Ability to clearly document inspection results and collaborate effectively within a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Complementary skills Experience working within an ISO 13485 or other regulated quality management system. Familiarity with Device History Records (DHRs), inspection records, and quality documentation. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
