This position plays a critical role in maintaining production flow by ensuring that machined parts and assemblies meet customer requirements, engineering specifications, and internal quality standards. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform quality inspections, approve first articles and production buy-offs, and serve as the primary quality resource for manufacturing personnel. In addition to quality-related responsibilities, this position supports overall production needs when inspection workload permits, helping to maintain efficiency and teamwork throughout the shop. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, personable, and capable of consistently retaining and applying inspection training and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Must be able to read blueprints. Perform first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections on machined parts and assemblies. Verify critical dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin gages, thread gages and other precision tools. Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and inspection requirements. Complete inspection documentation accurately and consistently. Assist with receiving inspection and parts returning from outside processing. Maintain inspection equipment cleanliness and proper storage. Cross Functional Support Support NCR documentation and follow up as directed. Participate in CMM training and gage R&R. Supporting assembly operations. Assisting with material movement and production flow. Helping maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and housekeeping standards. Providing general support to production teams to ensure on-time delivery and efficient workflow Required Skills & Qualifications Experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or quality inspection environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T. Proficiency with standard inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.) Ability to perform inspections with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail. Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry. Reliable, self-motivated, isn't afraid to ask for help when it's needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience inspecting parts in a production environment. Familiarity with CMM operation is a plus, we are willing to develop this skill. Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 quality systems is a plus. Prior involvement with NCRs, CARs, or quality documentation is a plus. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Manual dexterity required for measuring and inspecting precision components. Role Expectations Follow established processes•adhere to our quality process of improvement. Keeps clear lines of communication•this role works directly with machinists, engineers, and management. Support production flow by shifting between inspection and as needed help in the shop.
Pay:
$28.00•$38.00 per hour
