The Opportunity The Quality Assistant supports MSI TEC's Quality function by helping ensure products, repairs, and documentation meet company standards and customer requirements in alignment with
ISO 9001
2015. This role combines quality documentation, nonconformance/return coordination, customer material compliance support, and visual, functional, and dimensional inspection of components and repair products. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working across departments, and able to balance administrative accuracy with hands-on inspection responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Enter, process, and track nonconformances, repairs, and returns in the Quality Management System (QMS), including managing the repairs/returns inbox and stakeholder follow-up. Create, update, and organize quality documentation (inspection forms, work instructions, test records) and maintain customer material compliance documentation/certificates. Perform visual, functional, and dimensional inspections on components and repair products using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges), and record results/test data in the QMS and other quality records. Report quality issues, trends, and recurring nonconformances to the Quality Manager; support basic root cause and corrective action documentation. Support process improvement efforts by providing accurate data, helping update procedures, and assisting with implementation of changes. Collaborate with Quality, Production, Purchasing, and Customer Service teams to ensure clear communication on quality issues, repairs, and returns; provide general administrative support (filing, record retention, audit preparation). Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in manufacturing, quality, or related fields is a plus. 2+ years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, inspection, or documentation-focused role (quality assistant, inspector, coordinator, or similar). 2+ years of experience with data entry and/or documentation management in a structured system (QMS, ERP, or similar). General understanding of
ISO 9001
quality management principles. Strong understanding of manufacturing and production environments. Experience working with a Quality Management System (QMS). Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems. Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills. Ability to function successfully with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications (nice to have): Prior experience as a Quality Inspector or Quality/Production Assistant in a manufacturing environment. Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or related field. Familiarity with customer/supplier documentation and material compliance requests. Experience supporting repairs, returns, and nonconformance workflows. Exposure to automation, controls, or electro-mechanical assemblies. Experience working within an
ISO 9001
environment. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, and movement between desk and inspection areas. Frequent use of hands and arms to handle components and operate inspection tools. Good color and visual acuity for detailed inspection work. Ability to occasionally lift and move items up to 40 lbs. in the course of handling components, returns, and inspected products.
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Range:
$25-$30 per hour (non-exempt), depending on experience, skills, and education. Location and Schedule This is a full-time, primarily on-site position based in Centennial, Colorado. Work hours are Monday through Friday (daytime), with the possibility of one remote day per week based on business needs and manager approval.
