Opportunity:
The Inspector II role is to perform all required inspections in the manufacturing of precision machined components.
Location:
Manchester, CT This role will be onsite 100% of the time.
Responsibilities:
Inspection & Quality Assurance:
Conduct in-process and detailed inspections of engine parts using precision measurement tools. Review specifications and blueprints to ensure compliance with aerospace standards. Identify and disposition non-conforming parts. Inspect products using various inspection gages, scales, and visual inspection prior to product shipment Perform floor or machine inspection on such machines as vertical boring mills, radial drills, laser machines, water jet and lathes. Examine material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and other surface irregularities. Verifies dimensional compliance of all products with drawing and customer requirements
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of inspection results, measurement data, and non-conformance reports. Variable data collection and completion of inspection records. Authority to reject nonconforming products and stop production of such as needed. Documents nonconforming product with NMR process.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering and production teams to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with other inspectors to share best practices and improve inspection methods.
Continuous Improvement:
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process enhancement and optimizing inspection techniques.
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality regulations, and company policies throughout all inspection activities.
Problem-Solving:
Utilize root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to address quality issues, implementing effective preventive measures.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent 3 years related experience Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis. Must be able to perform work subject to
ITAR/EAR
regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of GD&T Experience Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Familiarity with manual layout inspection techniques and machining processes such as turning and milling. Experience in aerospace is advantageous. Proficiency in English language, both verbal and written. Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret blueprints and sketches accurately. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Able to use inspection tools and gages, such as scribes, vernier calipers, height gages, depth gages, micrometers, cylindrical plugs and thread gages, periphery or PI tapes, decimal scales, indicators, inspection fixtures, coordinate measuring machine and other automated measuring devices.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
