Windsor, CT Job Details Full-time $30 - $35 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Dimensional inspection Dimensional measurements Precision measurement in machining Full Job Description New England Expert Technologies is seeking detail-oriented and quality-focused Aerospace Quality Inspectors responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure parts, materials, and documentation meet customer, engineering, and aerospace requirements. Inspectors work closely with Certified Inspectors, Designated Quality Representatives (DQRs), Customer Logistical Certification and Shipping Reviewers (CLCSRs), and Product Quality Engineers (PQEs) to verify product conformity, detect defects early, and support effective rework and corrective action processes. Schedule Full-time | Monday-Friday | First Shift | Overtime as required Compensation depending on experience and certifications. Key Responsibilities Incoming Inspection & Certification Review
  • Perform incoming inspection of parts, materials, and documentation according to inspection plans and customer requirements.
  • Review supplier certifications, test reports, and documentation packages with CLCSR approval for final acceptance.
  • Verify that all documentation matches PO, drawing, and specification requirements.
  • Identify discrepancies and escalate to the Product Quality Engineer (PQE), CLCSR, or Quality Manager as required. First Piece & In-Process Inspection
  • Perform first piece inspections to validate setup, tooling, and process accuracy before production continues.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure product conformity throughout manufacturing.
  • Communicate immediately when defects, trends, or process issues are detected.
  • Support verification of rework and confirm effectiveness before product moves forward. Final Inspection & Customer Protection
  • Perform final inspection activities to ensure product meets drawing, specification, and contract requirements.
  • Work with Designated Quality Representatives (DQRs) when customer data, documentation, or final review is required.
  • Ensure all inspection records, measurements, and documentation are complete and accurate. Defect Detection & Nonconformance Support
  • Document nonconformances clearly and accurately in the QMS/ERP system.
  • Provide detailed information to support Material Review Board (MRB), PQE investigations, and 8D corrective action teams.
  • Assist in verifying corrective actions and confirming effectiveness at the product level. Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with Certified Inspectors to ensure consistent inspection practices.
  • Communicate quality concerns to the Inspection Quality Manager, PQE, and Operations promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on recurring issues or inspection challenges. Performance Metrics
  • Accuracy and completeness of inspection records
  • First piece and in-process defect detection rate
  • Incoming certification review accuracy
  • Timeliness of inspection activities
  • Escape rate and contribution to defect prevention
  • Quality of communication and escalation Required Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing or aerospace inspection
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Familiarity with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages, CMM reports, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to identify defects and communicate issues clearly
  • Experience with AS9100 or
ISO 9001
quality systems preferred Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience You should be proficient in: GD&T Quality Inspection Experience Tolerance Analysis Precision Measurement & Hand Metrology Advanced Inspection & Gauge Measurement Machines & technologies you'll use: Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) (Hexagon) Measurement Gauges Calipers and Micrometers
