QC Manager Position Overview The role of Quality Control Technician at Alcrete Industries is to oversee and lead all aspects of Quality Control throughout the company's precast manufacturing operations. Specific focus will be placed on the inspection of product, root cause analysis and corrective action processes, and NPCA and DOT certifications. The Quality Technician reports directly to the QC Manager. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Lead a quality focused culture striving for zero quality failures Maintain National Precast Concrete Association (NPCA) quality certification Maintain Department of Transportation (NCDOT) quality certification Manage the quality inspection processes of all manufactured products including pre-pour, post-pour, and final inspection Manage the testing of all concrete products including Compressive Strength Test ("Break Test"), Slump Flow of Self-Consolidating Concrete ("Flow Test"), Temperature Test, Unit Weight, Air Content Test, Moisture Test, and Absorption Test Treat all plant personnel with dignity and respect Initiate and manage root cause analysis and corrective actions for all quality related issues Communicate with customers regarding quality issues of product in the field Train plant manufacturing staff on quality expectations and best practices while occasionally helping production with hands on Maintaining a clean and organized Quality Lab that aligns with company 5S standards Able to read blueprints, ability to both work independently and lead production crews when necessary. Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) 2 years of precast quality control (preferred) 1 year of precast production (preferred) PQS level 1 certification (preferred) ACI level 1 certification (preferred) Strong leadership and communication skills Experience with NPCA Quality certification Experience with Department of Transportation certification Experience with American Concrete Institute's Concrete Field-Testing Technician certification Ability to follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others Promotes positive teamwork culture
Physical Requirements:
