Schedule:
Monday to Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm, with overtime available We are currently recruiting for an experienced Certified Welding Inspector / CWI-NDT Inspector to join a well-established heavy fabrication and machining business based in Bainbridge, Georgia . This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working within a heavy steel fabrication and machining environment. The role would suit someone with strong weld inspection experience, a current AWS CWI certification, and exposure to fabricated weldments, structural steel, machining, NDT and quality documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting fabricated and machined products to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, weld procedures and required quality standards. Key Responsibilities Inspect fabricated weldments, machined components and assemblies Carry out visual weld inspection in line with applicable codes and specifications Support NDT inspection activity, including MT, PT and UT where applicable Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols and technical specifications Complete dimensional inspection of fabricated and machined parts Prepare inspection reports, welding logs and quality documentation Maintain welder continuity records Support first-run, in-process and final inspection activity Work closely with welding, machining, production and quality teams Ensure inspection hold points and quality requirements are met throughout production Requirements Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification Experience inspecting fabricated weldments Strong background within heavy steel fabrication, machining, structural steel, construction or industrial manufacturing Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and weld symbols Experience with inspection reporting and quality documentation Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and/or
AWS D1.5
would be highly beneficial NDT experience, including MT, PT and UT, would be advantageous Documented UT hours would be highly desirable Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment Pay The position pays $30•45 per hour , depending on experience, CWI status, fabrication inspection background and documented UT hours.
