As a Metrologist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust measurement systems that support the quality and performance of our manufacturing processes. This includes working with device layouts, materials, information flow, and equipment setup.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive continuous improvement by analyzing system performance, identifying opportunities for optimization, and implementing solutions that increase production efficiency. You will also play a critical part in ensuring that all systems involved in manufacturing meet established quality standards. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about precision, quality, and continuous improvement, and who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Main accountabilities and tasks Investigate advanced metrology methods, including multi-sensor CMMs, non-contact inspection systems, and advanced sensors and gaging methods This position requires the ability to work with minimal supervision/engineering oversight on a moderate level of engineering support tasks Responsible for manufacturing and QC process design, including machinery selection and automation level selection, example CMM, laser scanning system, vision control system, manual equipment, build strong business case along with development or improvement concept Responsible for fixtures and new parts Program leadership on CMM Test mechanical features using coordinate measuring machines (CMM), video-based inspection and measurement equipment Drive the qualification of new measurement and testing equipment Consult and guide site/supplier end users on training and maintenance of new fixtures and equipment Responsible for calibration systems to include risk assessments, calibration schedule, calibration method, calibrations, assist in out of spec instrument investigations and other calibration duties as assigned. Static and Dynamic repeatability studies for Measurement Fixtures, Manufacturing Tooling and Inline Measurement Gauges Support design engineering on new development projects Evaluates and provides input to inspection processes via inspection aids and instruction guidelines Provide "hands on" support to manufacturing during manufacturing, assembly, and test of prototype and production hardware to ensure delivered products meet requirements, are easy to manufacture, and are testable during production for high yield product release Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on ensuring processes and techniques are aligned with future business needs Take ownership as the point of contact including training staff of metrology issues Support all shifts of 24/7 operations, may need to work off shift on temporary basis.

QualificationsWork experience:3+ years in a manufacturing environmentRead and understand mechanical drawings including GD&T Understand and lead statistical analysisCoordinate, create, and modify inspection routines on CMM for current and new components
Education:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, physics or mathematical engineering, related field or equivalent work experience Other skills and knowledge: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be able to communicate effectively on deviations to specifications Strong organizational skills and analytical mindset Initiative-taking and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
