Job Description

Construction Materials Testing Technician $21/hour
Location:
Cedar Rapids, IA Job Overview We are seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our Cedar Rapids team. This role supports commercial and transportation construction projects through field testing, inspections, reporting, and sample transport. Key Responsibilities Perform field sampling, testing, and observations of construction materials including soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcement, and asphalt Document daily field activities and testing results using electronic reporting systems Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients regarding test results and site conditions Transport construction materials samples to the laboratory for further testing Follow project specifications, safety requirements, and company procedures Assist senior technicians and project staff as needed Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license with a good driving record Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Basic math, technical, and computer skills Ability to communicate clearly in field and office settings Willingness to obtain industry certifications (company-paid training provided) Physical & Work Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift and carry 50-75 pounds Flexible schedule with occasional early mornings, evenings, or overtime based on project needs Why work here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
