Quality Technician Job Description The Quality Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality standards on the production floor by conducting product audits and supporting specification reviews. This position involves hands-on testing, building, and installing test fixtures, and collaborating with various teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Responsibilities Perform product audits on the production floor to ensure adherence to quality standards. Support specification reviews and effectively communicate quality requirements to relevant teams. Conduct and document test procedures, including air, water, and structural testing. Build and install test fixtures and prototypes as needed. Use measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers to verify parts. Partner with Quality Engineers, Operations, and OPD teams to resolve quality-related issues. Participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions. Maintain quality documentation and standard work instructions to ensure compliance. Assist with the calibration and care of quality and test equipment. Attend daily shift debriefs and contribute to continuous improvement activities. Essential Skills Strong background in quality and manufacturing processes. Excellent computer skills and ability to use various software applications. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams. Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through to ensure tasks are completed accurately. Comfortable working on the production floor with familiarity in using tools (training provided). Additional Skills & Qualifications Technical degree or related education is preferred. Interest in long-term growth within the Quality field. Work Environment A Quality Technician operates in a fast-paced, highly collaborative production-floor environment, where they spend most of their day hands-on, diagnosing issues and supporting operators. The role involves a structured and problem-solving-heavy atmosphere with solid training and growth potential. There are opportunities to work on both first and second shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dubuque, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
