Job Description
ISO 9001
certified precision machine shop located in the Des Moines area. We provide milling, turning, waterjet cutting, and fabrication services. We are open 4 days a week (Mon-Thurs), in 10 hour shifts. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineer who will create and maintain quality systems that ensure production parts are within specification. This will require a large amount of ownership of the quality and inspection process. As Subject Matter Expert (SME) on quality and inspection, this person will guide us as we acquire new customers, new equipment, and improve our current processes.Key Responsibilities Quality Planning:
Develop inspection plans, control plans, and PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).Inspection:
Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and dimensional reviews of manufactured components. Will operate as subject matter expert in inspection methodology and will inspect parts as required. Process Improvement (QA/QC): Utilize SPC (Statistical Process Control) and MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis) to monitor and improve machine process capabilities.Customer Interface:
Operate as the quality representative with customers. Work with customers over RMAs, non-conformances, and inspection related questions for new or existing parts.Non-Conformance Management:
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for rejected parts.Documentation & Audits:
Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality documentation; conduct internal audits.Compliance:
Work with compliance personal to ensure all quality related processes are compliant withinISO 9001
2015 and any additional compliance regulation acquired.Required Skills & Experience Experience:
5+ years of experience in Quality Management, Quality Engineering, Quality Tech/Specialist, and/or other technical related fields with a focus on QC.Education:
Requires bachelor's degree or 2-year technical degree. Will consider substantial experience in lieu of degree.Technical Expertise:
Strong proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) for machining, and fabrication (welding, bending, etc.) and blueprint reading.Tooling Familiarity:
Experience with CNC machinery and precision measurement tools (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers). Experience programming and running a manual and/or automatic CMM is a large plus.Quality Systems:
Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, ISO).Software:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. Proficiency in CAM/CAD software is a plus.Note:
Background check and drug screening will be required upon acceptance of offer.Pay:
