Job Description
Description Summary:
The Quality Specialist is considered a "Facilitator" who represents QA and the business. This role reports to the Site Quality Coordinator. They are responsible for supporting quality management systems, quality improvement projects, key customer activities, supplier improvement, and continuous improvement projects. Works cross functionally to standardize the quality management system through day-to-day quality and continuous improvements activities for the facility.Primary Duties:
Support changes and improvements to quality management system, including development of new procedures and work instructions. Support document control system, including publication and distribution of new documents. Maintain quality auditing tools based on engineering specifications, engineering changes, or deviations. Manage ECN and deviations and coordinate plant calibration control activities. Support the preparation for external audits, as needed, 3rd party and customer. Coordinate and conduct internal audits for quality systems, products, and processes, follow up with findings and manage closure. Support and coordinate issuing corrective action requests (CARs) to suppliers, including follow-up and closure. Assist manufacturing shop floor with corrective action resolution for internal key performance indicators, KPIs, and external customer issues, including warranty, customer complaints and ISO findings. Work with manufacturing shop floor and other departments on problem-solving initiatives and link actions and outcomes to QMS, Control Plans, PFMEAs, plant inspection points, and customer returns. Data collection and reporting. Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 6S and LPA audits. Requirements Qualifications /Experience:
Knowledge of problem-solving and quality methodologies (root cause analysis, 5 why, Six-Sigma, Lean, etc.) Must be quality and customer oriented Knowledge of quality standards, ISO 9001 and good manufacturing practices preferred Familiarity with quality management systems, control plan and internal auditing Must be able to work independently and drive issues to closure Flexibility to work within a dynamic team and provide training to others Strong verbal/written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Strong organizational skills for maintenance of documentation and data Skilled in the usage of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Microsoft Access databases, Microsoft SharePoint, or Quality Database Management Systems Flexibility to multitask and prioritize work on an independent basis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Benefits Benefits Day 1: 12 Paid Holidays Birthday Paid Off PTO Accrual Benefits 1st of the Month After 30Days:
