Job Title:
Quality Technician Job Description As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for performing hands-on testing to ensure that mechanical and electrical components meet established quality standards and customer specifications. Utilizing a variety of gauges, micrometers, and precision measurement tools, you will inspect in-process, finished, and returned products. You will review basic prints, assembly drawings, and traveler documentation, ensuring all inspections adhere to sequential workflows. Responsibilities Perform hands-on testing to ensure components meet quality standards and customer specifications. Utilize gauges, micrometers, and precision measurement tools to inspect products. Review basic prints, assembly drawings, and traveler documentation for sequential workflows. Document and track internal and external non-conformities, maintaining accurate quality records and incident logs. Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and provide occasional onsite customer support. Collaborate closely with the Assistant Quality Manager and quality team, contributing ideas for testing improvements and continuous improvement initiatives. Meet time standards as defined in BOMs and production schedules. Essential Skills 1+ year of hands-on quality or manufacturing experience. Strong attention to detail with a systematic mindset. Proficiency in using gauges, micrometers, and inspection tools. Ability to read basic blueprints, assembly prints, and travelers. Capability to manage multiple forms of documentation accurately and on time. Basic computer skills for maintaining quality logs, records, and documentation. Associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical and/or electrical background. Prior experience in quality inspection, assembly, or manufacturing environments. Familiarity with root cause analysis, warranty returns, or failure troubleshooting. Experience working with custom, internally built products rather than mass production. Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and operations. Work Environment The majority of the day is spent on the production floor. The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 5:30 am to 3:00 pm and Friday from 5:30 am to 9:30 am. Training is provided on the job with the Assistant Quality Manager. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waverly, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
