Your keen eye for detail and expertise in quality control will help maintain high standards throughout the inspection process. You'll be actively involved in assessing construction sites, analyzing schematics, reviewing concrete quality and integrity and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Join us in making a difference by safeguarding essential infrastructure! What you'll do Conducting structural inspections: Assessing the physical condition of the tower in regards to concrete, from structural members to connections, and identifying any damage or wear.
Identifying and documenting issues:
Pinpointing problems such as corrosion, cracked welds, or failing components.
Performing condition assessments:
Evaluating the overall health of the structure, especially for aging towers.
Checking clearances:
Ensuring adequate ground clearance and right-of-way are maintained, and assessing vegetation growth near the towers.
Using various inspection methods:
Employing both traditional methods like climbing and ground-based visual inspections, as well as modern techniques like drone (UAS) inspections and ground-penetrating radar.
Gathering data for reports:
Collecting detailed information, including photographic documentation and field measurements, to create reports with data-driven recommendations.
Collaborating with engineers:
Providing field data to structural engineers who use the information to develop repair plans.
Skills and qualifications Physical fitness:
The ability to work at significant heights in demanding conditions is essential.
Technical skills:
Proficiency with tools and technology used for inspection, including climbing gear and potentially drone operation.
Knowledge of structures:
Understanding the principles of structural integrity, materials science, and corrosion.
Safety adherence:
A strong commitment to following strict safety protocols and guidelines is paramount due to the hazardous nature of the work. Basic qualifications Proven experience in construction inspection or quality control within the construction industry. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data effectively. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents related to construction projects. Preferred qualifications Experience in pipeline inspections or related fields is highly desirable. Familiarity with construction management principles and practices. Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing transmission line structures.
