Ready to join a US Best Managed Company? KENT Worldwide™ has a fantastic opportunity to join our thriving team as a Quality Control Technician at our Bolingbrook, IL location. The QC Technician performs assigned tasks to assure adherence to food safety, quality, procedures and customer specifications. Controls and dispositions nonconforming materials. Audits, conducts inspections, reports non-conformances, and assists in root cause analyses. This is an hourly position with a complete benefit package. The compensation range for this role is $21 - $23/hr, in addition to KENT standard benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k). Final compensation is subject to variation based on the candidate's skills, job responsibilities, location and other pertinent factors.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluate raw materials, batches, and finished goods against specifications and COA results. Maintain accurate test records and generate COAs upon request. Conduct internal and customer sanitation audits; ensure food handling compliance. Initiate and update setup sheets; calibrate and verify lab equipment. Coordinate external sample testing and daily equipment checks (scales, metal detectors). Monitor production lines for quality procedures and specification adherence. Audit GMP compliance and support food and employee safety initiatives. Inspect sanitation of blending and production equipment safely. Assist Operations and Administrative teams as needed. Support Kosher and Halal certification maintenance. Review ingredient and product age; manage obsolete materials. Participate in recall and mock recall processes. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in Quality and Operations. Accurately enter production data into the reporting system.
EXPERIENCE
Work experience with a focus on Process and Packaging 1 year of experience in the Food or Food Packaging industries, or experience with a firm that supports blending and packaging operations
