Quality Assurance Inspector Job Description The Quality Assurance Inspector performs routine and detailed inspection activities to ensure products meet defined quality standards at various stages of production. This role focuses on visual and dimensional inspection of sub-assemblies and higher-level assemblies, often within an electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment. The inspector uses inspection tools, follows documented procedures, and accurately records quality data to support a robust quality management process. Responsibilities + Perform routine and repetitive inspection procedures to verify quality levels at various stages of the production process. + Visually inspect sub-assemblies and higher-level assemblies using magnifiers and other inspection tools, applying appropriate lot sampling methods or 100% inspection as required. + Inspect electronic, circuit board, PCBA , and electro-mechanical assemblies when applicable, ensuring they meet specified requirements. + Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to understand product requirements, tolerances, and inspection criteria. + Use measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to perform precise dimensional checks on components and assemblies. + Conduct quality checks and basic computer-based tests within the quality system to verify product conformity. + Document inspection results accurately and completely, maintaining quality records and documentation in accordance with established procedures. + Identify nonconformances, defects, or trends and promptly communicate issues to management or appropriate team members. + Follow established quality control and quality assurance procedures, ensuring compliance with internal standards and applicable regulations. + Support audits and documentation reviews, especially in environments aligned with medical device or similarly regulated products. + Work closely with production and engineering teams to clarify requirements and resolve quality-related issues. + Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and handle products and equipment in accordance with ESD and safety requirements. Essential Skills + Experience performing quality inspection or quality control in a manufacturing environment. + Ability to visually inspect sub-assemblies and completed products using magnifiers and other inspection tools. + Familiarity with electronics, circuit board manufacturing, PCBA , or electro-mechanical manufacturing environments. + Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and schematics, including reading drawing notes and understanding measurement requirements. + Proficiency using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges for dimensional inspection. + Experience with quality documentation, including recording inspection results and maintaining accurate quality records. + Comfort with heavy computer usage to inspect assemblies, perform basic computer testing, and complete quality checks within a quality system. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in identifying defects and nonconformances. + Ability to communicate clearly and speak up to management when issues or quality concerns arise. + Familiarity with documentation and audits, particularly in a regulated environment such as medical device manufacturing (preferred). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Electronics, circuit board manufacturing, PCBA , or electro-mechanical assembly is highly desirable. + Experience working with inspection tools such as magnifiers and ESD

+ Exposure to medical device manufacturing or other regulated industries is preferred. + Ability to read and understand quality check procedures and inspection work instructions. + Comfort working with mechanical assemblies and performing hands-on inspection tasks. + Strong organizational skills to manage multiple inspections and documentation requirements. + Willingness to learn, receive extensive training, and grow into higher-level roles within the organization. Employees use standard quality inspection tools and follow ESD precautions, including wearing ESD straps and an ESD smock. Safety glasses are required in designated areas as needed. The setting supports focused, detail-oriented work while maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00
  • $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
