Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
WPA Works LLC is looking for an individual to join the Quality Control department for the afternoon shift (4pm-1am +overtime) . Duties and responsibilities are listed below and not limited to, as listed below:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Read blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information, such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions.
  • Create FAIR, Final, First piece, and in-process inspections reports.
  • Determine measurement methods to obtain accurate and efficient verification of print specifications.
  • Perform complete layout inspection by measuring dimensions using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicator, and snap gauge, to ensure product meets specifications.
  • Able to locate reference point on part and measure dimension such as angle, arc, and radii, using combinations of aids, such as surface plate parallel bars, angle plates, gauge blocks, plug pins, V‑blocks, sine bars, and precision measuring instruments such as height gages, optical comparators, and Keyence vision system.
  • Perform verification on Incoming, In-Process, and Outgoing products.
  • Visually compare work pieces against one another to assess/detect manufacturing variations in processes.
  • Train operators on part visual acceptability and deburring needs as required. Also train operators in measurement and in-process procedures.
  • Reports quality problems or findings to Manager-Continuous Improvement and follows up to ensure that corrective action has/will take place.
  • Sets up inspection equipment to ensure accuracy. (Bore Gages)
  • Inspect initial sample run products including capability studies and gage R & R studies.
  • Participate in FMEA teams lending his/her experience and expertise from past quality problems
  • Accumulate ISIR submittal information for initial runs of products for specific customers.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
4 years of quality control experience in the manufacturing environment. (Aerospace industry/ sector experience HIGHLY sought-after)
Education:
GED at
Minimum Special Job Training Required:
  • SPC training & concepts
  • Blue Print Reading with GD & T
  • Introductory SPC training & concepts
  • Basic Math & Geometry/Trigonometry Physical Demands:
    The employee is required to: ‑ Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
