Job Description

A day in the life You open the morning huddle with a seasoned team of 1st shift inspectors, align on priorities, and head straight to the floor. Incoming lots wait for receiving checks, in-process features need verification, and final articles must be released to ship. Between approving first article inspections (FAIs) and reviewing non-conformance records, you partner with Production and Engineering to remove obstacles. When a deviation surfaces, you drive root cause analysis and kick off effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). All the while, you coach, cross-train, and monitor the KPIs that keep quality moving forward. What you will lead Direct and support a team of quality inspectors on 1st shift Manage receiving, in-process, and final inspection activities for precision-machined parts Ensure adherence to customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements (AS9100 preferred) Review and approve inspection reports, FAIs, and non-conformance documentation Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues and elevate processes Own root cause analysis and CAPA implementation Train, mentor, and develop inspection personnel Track KPIs and champion continuous improvement across the department What you bring 3+ years in a quality leadership or supervisory capacity Hands-on inspection background in precision machining or aerospace Fluency in GD&T and blueprint interpretation; skilled with gauges and metrology tools (CMM experience is a plus) Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO-based quality management systems Clear, confident communication and people leadership Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment What's in it for you Competitive compensation Full benefits package A platform to lead a critical quality function within a growing manufacturer Core proficiencies GD&T Quality inspection experience AS9100 Supervisory leadership Advanced inspection & gauge measurement
